I can not believe how much time I have spent looking at vanities! We haven’t settled on one yet, but we do have good news…
We have been working with a designer friend over several weeks to figure out a layout. There are many wants and needs for a somewhat small space, plus several items that are necessities, but completely in the way! This area used to be a garage and contains both the water holding tank for our house (NOT tucked neatly into a corner) and a very poorly arranged electrical panel area (2 panels plus a backup/generator panel, that take up almost a 5 foot span of wall!). On top of it all, there are 5 windows, all of which seem to be just the wrong size and in just the wrong spot.
Our ideal space:
The overall area is just about 14 feet by 26 feet. In this space, ideally, we would have:
- our master bedroom with walk-in closet
- a small office (NOT in the bedroom)
- a 3/4 bathroom (shower, no tub)
- laundry room
- mudroom with outdoor access and dog wash (insert dreamy eyes here!)
HA HA HA!! No way will all this fit with the functionality that we need.
So, the good news?
After so many floor plan renditions created by both myself and our friend (with plenty of input from my husband, our kids, our parents, etc), I think we have finally figured something out that fits most of what we want, but is a good compromise for what we need! Finalizing a few measurements and physically putting the layout on the floor to make sure it pans out…stay tuned!!
